Swedish Period Rococo Painted Linen Press
A fabulous 18th century Swedish period Rococo painted wood cabinet with plentiful storage. This antique cabinet from Sweden houses an upper cabinet of two doors, which open on a space divided by two shelves, atop a lower case fitted with a pair of half-sized drawers at top over two full-sized drawers. This piece is crowned by a gracefully arched pediment, straight lines within the body, and raised delicately upon four ogee bracket carved feet. The subtle color palette is comprised of blue and taupe, which beautifully accentuate its refined Rococo shape. The cabinet breaks down into three pieces (cornice, upper and lower cases) making for easier transport and installation. This 18th century Rococo cabinet offers excellent storage in exquisite fashion, perhaps used as a linen press within a bedroom or bathroom, to store freshly laundered towels and linens.
