An elegant French Louis XV serpentine commode from the 18th century. This antique chest from France with curvy top and bowed front, features features three drawers across the top facade, with two full-sized drawers beneath. The sides have fluidly-carved recessed panels, skirt is nicely scalloped, and the chest stands upon subtle cabriole style feet. Each drawer is decorated with intertwined c-scoll motifs over the raised panels, and carved middle plaques with ornate escutcheons set at center. This piece has a warm, rich patina, a reflection of it's history and prior use. This French Louis XV commode, placed in a living room, dining room, or bedroom, will make a fabulous storage piece with surface space atop for decorative objects to be displayed.
