19th C Swedish Mora Clock
This exquisite Swedish 19th century white with a slight blue undertone and gilded accents clock is a lesson in subtlety. This clock retains it's original metal face, hands and movement. From its elegant curves to the straightforward simplicity of its body, everything about this clock beckons you to look at its spectacular face guarded by its strong but graceful hands. The door of this clock is rare in that it features a unique two hinge style that provides for a smooth opening, but also allows you to easily remove the door if so desired. This clock would be wonderful as a decorative object and is not currently in working condition, but can be quartzed to keep perfect time, for an additional cost. A quartz battery would then be added behind the face. The original hands are too heavy to carry the quartz movement, so they would be changed to black hands, similar in style. The clock would then chime (the chime can be turned off even though the sound is quite delightful). A pendulum selected to work with the quartz movement would be added behind the glass opening. This piece would look great in an entryway, living room or perhaps in a kitchen. Let us know if you are interested in quartzing before you purchase this clock in which case we will adjust the price accordingly.
