19th C. Swedish Mora Clock w/Lyre Shape
This Item Is Is SoldA Swedish 19th century painted wood clock (commonly called a Mora clock) with lyre shaped door. This antique floor clock from Sweden, with it's original face and hands, has a low-profile carved top above its head and a wonderfully lyre shaped belly. The pastel, subtle colors are typical of the Swedish style. The clock stands on a blat base. This clock would be wonderful as a decorative object (after all, we now rely on our smartphones to tell time) and is not currently in working condition, but we can quartz it for an additional cost. Just let us know and we will quote you. A quartz battery would then be added behind the face. The original hands are too heavy to carry the quartz movement, so they would be changed to black hands, similar in style. The clock would then chime (the chime can be turned off even though the sound is quite delightful).
