Swedish 19th C Floor Clock w/Pedestal Base

Swedish 19th C Floor Clock w/Pedestal Base | Item# 411

24"width 11.75"depth 85.5"height

A Swedish 19th century painted wood floor clock with pedestal style base flanked with column accents. This antique clock from Sweden features pronounced volutes carved at both sides of it's head, a lyre-shaped body and rectangular base flanked by two stylized Corinthian columns. The color of this clock is a vibrant white. Some original wood is visible through the white paint. The trim and motifs are of a light shade of green-grey. This clock has words written on the inside of its door as well as the date 1900, probably added at a later date. Though it retains it's original face and movement, it is not currently in working condition, but can be quartzed to keep perfect time, for an additional cost. A quartz battery would then be added behind the face. The original hands are too heavy to carry the quartz movement, so they would be changed to black hands, similar in style. The clock would then chime (the chime can be turned off even though the sound is quite delightful. A pendulum selected to work with the quartz movement would be added behind the glass opening.

Price: $5,845.
