Swedish Clock, Early 19th Century

Swedish Clock, Early 19th Century | Item# 412

21.5"width 9.5"depth 92"height

A 19th century Swedish Fryksdahl clock. This Swedish clock features a lovely carved crest with foliage decor. The neck is decorated with rosettes on the side and a flower motif in its center. The one-hinged tear-drop shaped door is reeded and opens from left to right. The unusual base is adorned with a central star as well as a carved swag. The clock has the date 1831 written inside its door. The overall tone of the clock is a light grey green and neutral beige. This clock also has some undertones of black throughout. This piece would look perfect in a living room, family room, bedroom, entryway or office. This clock would be wonderful as a decorative object and is not currently in working condition, but can be quartzed for an additional cost. A quartz battery would then be added behind the face. The original hands are too heavy to carry the quartz movement, so they would be changed to black hands, similar in style. The clock would then chime (the chime can be turned off even though the sound is quite delightful). A pendulum specifically chosen to work with the quartz movement would then be added behind the glass opening.

Price: $5,790
