Fryksdahl 19th C. Swedish Clock

Fryksdahl 19th C. Swedish Clock | Item# 426

21.5"width 9"depth 83"height

A 19th century Swedish clock with ornate details. This Fryksdahl Swedish clock from Värmland features a nicely carved crest at the top with stylized rose and rosettes. The rosette motif is echoed again about the neck and waist. The one hinged tear drop shaped door opens from left to right and the clock is raised on a flat base. This clock retains it's original face and hands. The general color is of a grey green with blue accents and wood coming through. The trim is a dark blue with light blue accents. This clock would be wonderful as a decorative object and is not currently in working condition, but can be quartzed to keep perfect time, for an additional cost. A quartz battery would then be added behind the face. The original hands are too heavy to carry the quartz movement, so they would be changed to black hands, similar in style. The clock would then chime (the chime can be turned off even though the sound is quite delightful.) A pendulum selected to work with the quartz movement would be added behind the glass opening.

Price: $5,250
