A Swedish 19th Century Mora Clock
A Swedish 19th century painted wood clock. This Swedish Mora clock has a whimsical geometric style triangular base, circle face and teardrop shaped door. This piece is a great neutral taupe color with light grey-white paint over-top. The trim is a natural green color. This tall clock has a lot of simplicity and purity in its lines and finish. The round head sits on a neck with a molding that curves up while the tear drop shaped door in its belly is maintained with a latch. There is no hinge and the door comes completely off once the latch is released. This Swedish clock stands out particularly thanks to its large and triangular shaped base. This clock would be the perfect addition to any sun-room, office, hallway or living room. This clock would be wonderful as a decorative object and is not currently in working condition, but can be quartzed to keep perfect time, for an additional cost. A quartz battery would then be added behind the face. The original hands are too heavy to carry the quartz movement, so they would be changed to black hands, similar in style. The clock would then chime (the chime can be turned off even though the sound is quite delightful.) A pendulum selected to work with the quartz movement would be added behind the glass opening.
