A 19th Century Swedish Clock

A 19th Century Swedish Clock | Item# 460

24"width 8.75"depth 79"height

A 19th century painted wood Swedish clock. This Swedish clock from the 1820's features a round face, subtle crest and raindrop shaped body. There are trim accents about the neck and waist with the sweetly carved bead work along the edges of the lower body, starting just below the waist. The clock has a dry scraped finish with various shades of burnished sunset, yam and beige. This clock would be wonderful as a decorative object and is not currently in working condition, but can be quartzed to keep perfect time, for an additional cost. A quartz battery would then be added behind the face. The original hands are too heavy to carry the quartz movement, so they would be changed to black hands, similar in style. The clock would then chime (the chime can be turned off even though the sound is quite delightful). A pendulum selected to work with the quartz movement would be added behind the glass opening. This 19th century Swedish clock would look great in an entryway, bedroom, living room or office.

Price: $6,300.
