A Swedish Clock w/ Beautiful Face
This Item Is On HoldA 19th century Swedish clock. This antique clock from the central area of Sweden features a flattened arch shaped raised bonnet with pierced center, an unusual and beautiful face, and accent trim about the neck and waist. The exquisite face on this clock shows roman numerals, quarter hour markers (15, 30, 45 and 60), and a circular day count for the monthly calendar about the interior. There are some artistically dotted accents about the numbers, and a decorated hand each for the hour, minute and day of month. The clock has a wash of light blue and pale sea glass green with traces of white, beige and wood grain throughout. The lighter coloring is more prominent about the accent trim. This clock would be a wonderful decorative object. Though it retains it's original face and movement, it is not currently in working condition. However, it can be quartzed to keep perfect time, for an additional cost. A quartz battery would then be added behind the face. The original hands are too heavy to carry the quartz movement, so they would be changed to black hands, similar in style. The clock would then chime (the chime can be turned off even though the sound is quite delightful). A pendulum selected to work with the quartz movement would be added behind the glass opening. This 19th century central Swedish clock would be a great decorative addition to a foyer, living room or family room.
