A 19th C. Central Swedish Clock
A 19th century painted wood Swedish long-case clock with distinct curvy rain-drop shaped belly. This antique floor clock from central Sweden has a half-moon crest atop it's head, and trimmed details accenting it's neck and underside of the belly. This clock is raised on a nicely scalloped front base with flat sides. The overall coloring is a mix of grey hues, with a light blue and darker taupe/grey accent trim. Some wood emerges through the layers of paint. This clock would be wonderful as a decorative object as it is not currently in working condition. However, the clock can be quartzed to keep perfect time, for an additional cost. A quartz battery would then be added behind the face. Its original hands are too heavy to carry the quartz movement, so they would be changed to black hands, similar in style. This clock would then chime (the chime can be turned off even though the sound is quite delightful). A pendulum selected to work with the quartz movement would be added behind its glass opening. This Swedish 19th century clock would look great in an entryway, living room, or office.
