Nicely Trimmed Swedish Clock w/Rich Hues
A 19th century painted wood Northern Swedish floor clock. This fabulous 1820's floor clock from Northern Sweden features a raised flat-top crest, it's original round metal face & movements, detailed rope trim details about the center door case with petite floral carvings at the top. The raindrop shaped belly has a window at center, the bottom is triangular, all supported by the flat base. Trim molding accentuates the neck, waist and base areas. The clock palette is in rich hues of deep sea green, with red and umber accents, and wood tones. This clock would be wonderful as a decorative object and is not currently in working condition, but can be quartzed to keep perfect time, for an additional cost. A quartz battery would then be added behind the face. The original hands are too heavy to carry the quartz movement, so they would be changed to black hands, similar in style. The clock would then chime (the chime can be turned off even though the sound is quite delightful). A pendulum selected to work with the quartz movement would be added behind the glass opening. This 19th century Northern Swedish floor clock would look great in an entryway, bedroom, living room or office.
