Swedish Grandfather Clock in Blue/Grey
A 19th century Swedish painted wood floor clock. This antique grandfather clock from Sweden is topped with a nicely adorned crest of fanning with volutes. The original metal face is boldly numbered in a cursive style script, with delicately stylized metal hands gracing the center. The fluid curves of the neck and body are accentuated with swagged trim. The tear drop single-hinged door opens from left to right and the clock rests securely upon a flat stack-molded base. The overall color palette is a blue/grey with darker charcoal trim throughout. This Swedish clock would work well to decorate any tall narrow wall space, perhaps in a living room or hallway. This clock, with it's original face and movement, would be wonderful as a decorative object, though is not currently in working condition. It can be quartzed to keep perfect time, for an additional cost, with a new quartz battery added behind the face. The original hands are too heavy to carry the quartz movement, so they would be changed to black hands, similar in style. The clock would then chime (the chime can be turned off even though the sound is quite delightful.) A pendulum selected to work with the quartz movement would be added behind the glass opening.
