19th C. Swedish Floor Clock in Warm Tones

19th C. Swedish Floor Clock in Warm Tones | Item# 506

23.75"width 9.5"depth 77"height

A 19th century painted wood Swedish grandfather clock. This antique floor clock from central Sweden is from the 1820's and features a raised crest with flat-top, it's original round metal face & movements, a raindrop shaped belly, a curvy triangular bottom supported upon a flat base. There are carved accents about the crest, and front lower portion of clock. The clock retains much of it's original coloring in warm palette of brown, yam, and hints of sienna. This clock would be wonderful as a decorative object. Though it retains it's original face and hands, it is not currently in working condition, but can be quartzed to keep perfect time, for an additional cost. A quartz battery would then be added behind the face. The original hands are too heavy to carry the quartz movement, so they would be changed to black hands, similar in style. The clock would then chime (the chime can be turned off even though the sound is quite delightful). A pendulum selected to work with the quartz movement would be added behind the glass opening. This 19th century Swedish clock would look great in an entryway, bedroom, living room or office.
