A Central Swedish Floor Clock w/Crown Crest
A central Swedish long-case floor clock from the 19th century . This antique floor clock from central Sweden, with its distinct curvy rain-drop shaped belly, is topped with a hand-carved crown resting prominently at its crest, and two delicately carved medallion rings with stars at their centers adorn the front body. The clock retains its original metal face and hands. Trimmed details accentuate its neck and underside of the belly. This clock is presented upon a flat base with scalloped cut-outs at front. The color is a soft gray with blue gray undertones. This clock would be wonderful as a decorative object as it is not currently in working condition. However, the clock can be quartzed to keep perfect time, for an additional cost. A quartz battery would then be added behind the face. Its original hands are too heavy to carry the quartz movement, so they would be changed to black hands, similar in style. This clock would then chime (the chime can be turned off even though the sound is quite delightful). A pendulum selected to work with the quartz movement would be added behind its glass opening. This Swedish 19th century grandfather clock would be quite a welcoming piece for an entryway, or perhaps a kitchen or living area.
