19th C. Swedish Grandfather Clock in Blue
A Central Swedish 19th century long-case floor clock. This antique floor clock from central Sweden is crowned with an exaggerated carved crest atop it's head with delicate flower at center. Trimmed details accentuate it's neck and underside of the belly, and recessed panel at bottom mimics the outline of the shapely case. This clock is presented upon a flat base. The finish is primarily blue with wood emerging through the scraped layers of old paint. This clock would be wonderful as a decorative object as it is not currently in working condition. However, the clock can be quartzed to keep perfect time, for an additional cost. A quartz battery would then be added behind the face. Its original hands are too heavy to carry the quartz movement, so they would be changed to black hands, similar in style. This clock would then chime (the chime can be turned off even though the sound is quite delightful). A pendulum selected to work with the quartz movement would be added behind its glass opening.
