Swedish Floor Clock w/ New Quartz Movement
A Swedish long-case carved and painted wood floor clock from the 19th century, with new quartz movement. This antique floor clock from Sweden, has an exaggerated bonnet topped with egg-shaped finial. The clock has a distinctly curvy rain-drop shaped belly, and shapely triangular base. Trim molding accentuates the base of the neck and underside of the belly. It is presented upon a flat back base with scalloped cut-outs at front. The scraped finish reveals lots of wood grain and soft blues with cream accents. The clock retains its original metal face, and has been newly quartzed to keep perfect time. A quartz battery has been added behind the face. Its original hands are too heavy to carry the quartz movement, so they have been changed to a similar style. However, we will include the clock's original movement. This clock chimes, though the chime can be turned off even though the sound is quite delightful! This Swedish 19th century grandfather clock would be quite a wonderfully welcoming piece for an entryway, kitchen, or living area.
