19th C. Swedish Clock w/Original Color

19th C. Swedish Clock w/Original Color | Item# 544

27"width 9"depth 86"height

A Swedish grandfather clock, with much of its original color, from the 19th century. This antique long-case clock from Sweden has a round-shaped head with a raised arched crest adorning its top, and the original metal face (with hand-painted numbers and decoratively scrolled metal hands) are found behind the glass opening. The neck and waist are accentuate the subtle curves of the raindrop-shaped belly, with trim molding. The clock is secured with a flat base with step-down molding. Much of the original color still remains, consisting of melon, gray, and cream, with lots of areas of wood grain showing throughout. Though it retains its original face and movement, it is not currently in working condition, but will make a fabulous decorative statement piece. However, for an additional charge (please require prior to purchase, it can be quartzed to keep perfect time. If quartzed, a new battery would be added behind the face. The original hands are too heavy to carry the quartz movement, so they would be changed to black hands, but similar in style. The clock would then chime (the chime can be turned off even though the sound is quite delightful!). A pendulum selected to work with the quartz movement would be added behind the glass opening. This 19th century Swedish floor clock will make a great decorative addition to a foyer, living room or family room!

Price: $6,300.
