This Item Is On HoldAn authentic ancient Greek Gemini Dioscuri silver coin, Istros (Greek city) in Thrace (struck 400-350 BC), within a custom round 925 sterling silver bezel adorn with 22k gold accents. The obverse, or front, side of this coin features two young male head facing, side by side, one upright, the other inverted. On the reverse side, a Sea-eagle standing left, on dolphin left, which it attacks with its beak. The two male heads have been interpreted as representations of Dioscouri, or the Gemini Twins. In Greek mythology, the Dioscuri were the twin brothers Castor and Pollux. This coin pendant measures approximately 1 7/16" tall (including bail), 1" wide and 1/3" deep. This ancient Greek coin pendant is displayed on a hand-made smokey glass bead necklace, measuring 28", and is included with the purchase at no additional charge.
