Swedish Painted Clock, Circa 1820This Item Is Closed
A 19th century Swedish floor clock, circa 1820. This Swedish painted wood clock features straight, clean lines. The clock is topped with a nicely carved crest. The round face creates balance and contrast with its general linear profile. The color of the clock is an aqua green, with slight brushes of grey. The trim and crest part have a green / grey tone with hints of yellow. Around the face, an off cream with traces of black and grey paint. This Swedish early 19th century clock would be wonderful as a decorative object and is not currently in working condition. The clock can be quartzed to keep perfect time, for an additional cost. A quartz battery would then be added behind the face. The original hands are too heavy to carry the quartz movement, so they would be changed to black hands, similar in style. The clock would then chime (the chime can be turned off even though the sound is quite delightful).
