19th Century Swedish Wooden ClockThis Item Is Closed
A 19th Century Swedish Clock. This exquisite Swedish clock features an elegant and rich wood finish. It is capped with a signature bonnet style crest. The linear profile is echoed in the geometrical design above and below the checkered pattern, as well as in the wood itself. The face is adorned with a pewter ring with two series of numbers, one of which is roman numerals. It sits above a gilded surface decorated with intricate motifs, including angel / putti faces. This clock would be wonderful as a decorative object. Though it retains it's original face and movement, it is not currently in working condition. However, it can be quartzed to keep perfect time, for an additional cost. A quartz battery would then be added behind the face. The original hands are too heavy to carry the quartz movement, so they would be changed to black hands. The clock would then chime (the chime can be turned off even though the sound is quite delightful). A pendulum selected to work with the quartz movement would be added behind the glass opening. This 19th century Swedish floor clock would be a great decorative addition to an entry foyer or living area.
