Pair 19th C. Hanging Gilt SconcesThis Item Is Closed
A pair of Italian 19th century hanging sconces. This pair of antique Italian sconces have been fashioned from hanging church lanterns of silver gilt and gesso over carved wood. Three uniquely designed chains, with decorative carved wood ball accents, connect the lantern to it's canopy from the more bulbous middle section. The canopy is hung from a wall mounted plaque, allowing these beautiful lights to hang freely. There is a small ring finial at their bottoms. These sconces have lovely aged patina, chippy gilt and gesso throughout adding to it's character. These 19th century Italian sconces are unwired and would look great with candles, flanking a large wall or entryway.
(23cm x 25cm x 64cm )
Silver gilding and gesso is chippy and cracked in various areas throughout.
