French Louis XVI Window Bench with Arms
A French Louis XVI wooden bench with original paint from the turn of the 18th and 19th century. This antique Louis XVI bench from France has been carved with fluted details about the arm rails and legs. Arms are padded with manchettes at their centers, and terminate into tightly scrolled carved knuckles. The seat is upholstered in an older but nice and usable striped fabric in blush, cream, and green. The skirt is simple and clean with square-carved profiled knees atop the six flute-carved and rounded legs which gently taper to their feet. The original finish to the wood has a lovely patina and nice show of age. This late 18th century Louis XVI armed bench will be a great seating addition under a window, hallway or at the foot of a bed.
