French Desk w/Leather Writing Pad, 19th C.

A French Louis XV style desk, with leather writing pad top, from the 19th century. This antique table from France has been designed in the Louis XV style with a fitted leather writing pad and top edging adorned in egg-and-dart carved trim. The apron houses five drawers at one side, with "false" drawers decorating the opposite side of the table. The table is raised on subtle and elegant cabriole legs, with brass ornaments on the knees, and terminating into decorative leaf-wrapped brass feet. This piece has a black finish with gold and brass accents, and leather top which has a fabulous old patina. This 19th century French Louis XV style desk will make a sophisticated statement, floated within a home office or library.
