Italian "Fratino" Stretcher Table, 19th C.

An Italian wood trestle-leg table, with forged-iron stretcher, from the 19th century. This antique table from Italy, sometimes referred to as a "Fratino" table, features a rectangular-shaped top, which is raised upon a pair of elaborately-carved trestle-styled legs. The underside of the table is braced by a pair of hand-forged iron stretchers, which intersect and cross near the top, creating visual interest and further embellishment to this piece. The wood has has a warm patina and some cracks; a reflection of it's history and age. This 19th century Italian trestle table with iron stretcher offers numerous options for use, perhaps as an occasional or console table, or perhaps a handsome desk.
