An Italian carved and gilt wood console table, with its original marble top, from the turn of the 19th and 20th century. This antique table from Italy has a rectangular-shaped marble top with projected squared corners, atop an apron carved with playfully scrolling acanthus leaves on three sides, outlined within petite beaded, and flower heads carved into the corners, just above each leg. The table is presented upon four rounded and tapering legs, with thickly-carved fluting, and terminate into toupie style feet. The original marble top is primarily a soft blush/peach with grey and white veining, which perfectly compliments the table beneath. This turn of the century Italian console table (which looks like a much older piece than it is!) retains its original gilt and hand-painted finish with sage green, bronze and hints of red.
