A French 4.5 Ft Round-Shaped Table, 19th C

A French carved wood and round-shaped table from the 19th century. This antique table from France features a round shaped top (approximately 4.6 feet across in diameter) that has a lovely inlayed lattice inspired squared center, and overhangs the apron with scallop carved skirting along all sides. The table is presented upon four thick and shapely legs, each adorn with shells and foliate carvings on their knees, and terminating into hoof-carved feet. The natural wood color is complimented with a darker taupe/brown accent about the top edges and various trim details. Please note that the table base/legs are 19th century and the top has been replaced at some point (though old wood was used); the end result is a very beautiful and quite sturdy piece! Seating clearance between the underside of the apron and floor measures 23.5" in height. This 19th century French round-shaped table would be perfect as a breakfast dining table, a center table, or perhaps as a game table in a family or sun room.
