18th C. Italian Carved Altar Wall Console
An Italian carved and painted altar from the 18th century, which we envision making a fabulous wall-mounted console table! This antique table from Italy, once used as an altar, has a trapezoidal shape with good-sized top that spans just over six feet in length. A sunflower flanked with scrolling leaves adorn the front, with a small shell and acanthus leaves at lower apron center. The skirt is carved with a swag and each front foot terminates into volute scrolls. This piece is made to be mounted on a wall (we recommend having a professional help you with this), which makes the height versatile to suite your needs and placement. The top board is old, but not original to the 18th century base. Primary colors are beige (with lots of wood showing through), gold gilt accents, and a dark stormy sea blue color as the background. This 18th century altar/mounted wall console, will be such a special piece (can you say "room-maker"!) and a great conversational element for your home!
