French Vitner's Oval Wine Table, 19th C.

A French oval-shaped wooden wine tasting table, from the 19th century. This lovely rustic French table features an oval-shaped tilting top, which is the signature of wine tasting tables. The butterfly wedge, found at underside of table top, turns to either support the table top, or let it tilt down for storage. The table is presented upon squared legs with rail-style feet. This wood has some quite nice wear to the top, along with a fabulous patina, which gives it a beautiful color and reflection of a piece from the 1800s. This 19th century French wine tasting table, often referred to as a Vitner's table, would of course work perfectly in a wine cellar or kitchen, but is versatile enough to use in just about any room of the house.
