Pair Italian 19th C. Lyre-Leg Demi Consoles

An Italian pair of carved-walnut, Lyre leg console tables from the 19th century. These antique tables from Italy each feature a demi-style tops with flattened backsides and rounded fronts having nicely carved edges adding shape and movement to these pieces. The tops are raised upon a pair of sinuously carved and canted lyre-legs. The lyre legs are braced with two curvy stretchers which fill the underside of the table with a inverted V design. This walnut wood table has a nice, early finish; a deep, rich brown with lovely patina and age, reflective of it's history. This pair of 19th century Italian canted lyre-leg demi consoles, just over 4 feet in width, will be beautiful in a living space, perhaps flanking an entryway or window, decorated with beloved objects and art and/or lamps atop.
