Petite French Marble Top Demi-Lune, 19th C.

A small-sized French carved-wood demi console table with marble top, from the 19th century. This antique table from France has a half-moon shaped marble top which rests upon the apron which is carved in a ribbon motif with are adorn with squared medallion flower heads carved at either front side. It is raised nicely upon four round fluted and tapered legs, with carved box-shaped ankles with flower heads at their center, and terminating into peg feet. A graceful pair of cross-stretchers, with floral medallion at top center, adds further support between the legs. The merlot colored marble top pairs well with the scraped finish of the wooden table beneath. Note that the marble top is not attached. This 19th century French demi-lune table is a great option for when a smaller sized console is needed, with an approximate width of 2.5 feet.
