Italian Slender Console w/Orig. Marble Top
An Italian marble top console table, with carved foliate accents, from the mid 20th century. This vintage table from Italy, circa 1960-70, retains its original elongated rectangular-shaped marble top, with subtle break-front design at front. The apron follows suit with the same break-front design, and houses three drawers set horizontally along its front facade. It is adorn with carved flower heads framed atop each leg, petite bead trim outlining the decorative panels, and a a row of leaves flanking a flower prominently featured at front center. The six fluted and tapering cylindrical legs, are braced above their feet with a carved wood stretcher connecting the front pair, and a long/straight stretcher along the length of the table with concave arch stretchers at either far end. The wood has been scraped down to its taupe and cream finish. The original marble has some stains (please refer to additional images for more detail). This table is just over 6 feet in length, with a slender depth of 19 inches. This vintage marble top table, with breakfront design and drawers for storage, would make an elegant addition to an entry foyer, or perhaps used as a dining room server.
