French Table w/Scalloped Skirt, 19th C.
A French carved-fruitwood table, with small drawer and pull out shelf, from the 19th century. This antique table from France features a rectangular-shaped top with softly rounded corners, which overhangs the apron which houses a small-sized drawer found at one longer side, and a pull-out extension shelf for extra work space at one shorter end. The skirting is scalloped along all sides, which would allow this piece to be floated nicely within a room. The table is gracefully raised on four gently curved legs. The fruitwood has a thicker washed finish, still allowing much of the wood grain to show through from beneath, and a highlighted accent about the top perimeter edge. Please note that additions have been made to the legs to add more height to this table. This 19th century French table, just shy of 5.5 feet in length, offers great floatability and endless functionality throughout the home- perhaps as a large console, additional kitchen work table/island, or desk!
