Italian Halved-Octagon Lyre Leg Consoles

An Italian pair of carved wood demi console table from the 19th century. These antique tables from Italy each feature a demi-style, halved-octagon shaped top, with fabulous trim detail about the underside of the top perimeter. The tops are raised upon a pair of sinuously carved and canted lyre-legs. The lyre legs are braced with two curvy stretchers which fill the underside of the table with a bell-shaped design. The fruitwood has a nice patina throughout. Note that one of the legs is naturally lighter (sun-bleached/fading). These 19th century Italian canted lyre-leg demi consoles have an unusually nice length of approximately 4.75 feet in width.
