An Italian Gilt-wood Mirror

An Italian gilt-wood carved mirror made of 19th century fragments. This gilded rectangular Italian mirror is made of richly carved leafy scrolls decorating the frame. The surround is gesso over gilded wood, gold with spots of reddish ochre, nice age and chipping throughout. There is a nice antique ribbon detail tacked about the edges of the frame. The overall shape is rectangular and the glass in its center is clear. This exquisite 19th century Italian fragment mirror would look lovely in perhaps a hallway, bedroom or entryway.
