19th C. Lion of Hand-Carved Stone, 2+ Ft

A European carved stone lion from the 19th century, or potentially older. This antique stone lion statute features nice hand-carved details, including the nicely textured mane, and facial features. The lion is in a seated position, looking forward, with tail wrapping around at his side. The stone has an expected, beautifully aged patina throughout. Please note that this piece is quite heavy, weighing several hundred pounds.
