Antique French Biot Jar with Glazed Rim
A French Biot jar from the early 20th century. This antique vessel from France features a mellow glazed and rolled rim & neck, with a wonderfully bulbous-shaped body. Biot is a small village in the south of France, famous for their clay pottery, and particularly their jars. This piece is nicely sized, standing approximately 31" tall, and mouth opening is 13" diameter. This early 20th century jar, with it's gracefully hand-made body and lovely aged patina, will make an excellent decorative object for your home or garden.
