French Neoclassical Large Overmantel Mirror

A French large-sized Neoclassic mirror from the 19th century. This antique mirror from France is beautifully embellished with traditional Neoclassical carved elements including scrolling foliage, bow-tie topped hanging garlands, and urns with floral bouquets. The crest rail top is flat and molded, a larger upper panel adorns the topside, with a thin and clean bottom. The inner glass mirror is framed within a petite bead trim, then a smaller molded frame within the larger wood surround. The finish has a lovely aged patina throughout and the color is a creamy beige with gold gilt accents. This 19th century French Neoclassical mirror would be a delightfully eye-catching over mantel piece, and is nicely sized at approximately 4.5 feet wide and standing approximately 5.25 feet in height.
