16th c. Shipwreck Salvaged Ming Gap Jar
This early to mid 16th century ceramic vessel from Thailand is an excellent specimen of a salvaged ceramic jar from a shipwreck during in the Ming gap period. This antique jar from Thailand stands just over 2 feet in height and has a rounded body, with a thickly rounded top lip, and set of four loop-hole projections arising from the shoulders (which would have been used to secure a lid at top). There is a fabulous texture about the jar, from the centuries of being submerged underwater, which has encrusted it with barnacles and tales of sea-life. Should you wish to have a collection of these Ming gap jars, we currently have several others available (see accessories #2524 and #2525)- each priced and sold separately.
