French Gilt Mirror w/Ornate Crest, 19th C.

A French pierced-carved crest and gilt wood mirror from the 19th century. This antique mirror from France has a rectangular-shaped glass mirror adorn with an ornately pierce-carved and raised crest with dove at center, beneath an arched branch of leaves, and flanked within circular swirls of leaves and petite flower heads. The shoulders each have carved leafy tassels that hang down each upper side. The frame is clean and linear around the perimeter, with a lambs tongue trim at center and inner surround has petite beaded trim along side of the glass. The gilt finish has a nice patina throughout, and there is an umber/red that shows through in various areas and more so on the outer frame edges. This elegant 19th century French mirror, with impressive pierce-carved crest, stands just over 4.25 feet in height.
