French Louis XVI Style Armchairs, 19th C.

A French pair of carved wood armchairs, with upholstered seat and back, from the mid 19th century. This pair of antique chairs from France, are hand-carved in the Louis XVI style, each having a beautifully carved arched top rail, flanked within finials at shoulders, a seat rail with bow-tied ribbon pierce carved at center, and rosette flower heads adorning front knees. The chairs are presented upon four conical shaped and flute-carved legs that terminate into peg-style feet. The chairs retain their original painted finish; primarily a muted green color. The back rests, seats, and manchette pads at arm rests have all been newly upholstered in a silver/gray linen which has a subtle sheen. This pair of mid 19th century Louis XVI style French fauteuils, with their timeless and sophisticated design, are perfect for the home or office.
