Pair 18th C. Danish Rococo Side Chairs
A Danish pair of Rococo carved-wood side chairs from the 18th century. This antique pair of period Rococo chairs from Denmark each have elegantly pierce-carved back-splats with beautifully carved and gilt floral, scroll, and foliate embellishments about the top rail and sides. The seat is upholstered and the wooden seat rail is swag carved about the apron, with gilt accent at the front center, carrying through the design from above. The chairs are presented upon cabriole style front legs that terminate into ball and claw feet, with sabre legs at rear. A box stretcher adds support to the legs, with front stretcher having a fluid/wavy design. Please note that this is a near pair of chairs, as one chair brown and the other is black. Both chairs have brown leather upholstered seats, which have just a hint of mauve to them. These 18th century Danish Rococo chairs would be wonderful accent chairs- adding a sense of warmth and elegance to your home.
