19th C. Hanging Carved-Wood Lantern, Italy

An Italian single-light carved and painted wood hanging lantern from the 19th century. This antique hanging light fixture from Italy features a wood-carved, lantern-shaped body adorn in scrolled post accents, leaf and flower carvings, and a large bottom finial flower head finial with upturned petals. There is a single light within the center, surrounded within a triangular lantern with glass panels and a single door which opens at one side. The chandelier is primarily a hand-painted teal/blue faux marble finish with gold/bronze accents. Please note that this light will need to be re-wired. The height measurement listed is to the top of the O-ring. This 19th century Italian suspended lantern will make a beautiful light for a stairwell landing, foyer, or perhaps in a powder room.
