Italian Floral-Painted Chest, Early 19th C.
An Italian hand-painted raised chest, with subtle serpentine body, from the early 19th century. This antique chest from Italy is ornately decorated in a hand-painted floral, lattice, and urn motif about the front and sides. The commode has a nice curvy silhouette, with two full sized drawers, and is raised upon four cabriole legs that terminate into hoof carved feet. The skirt is scalloped on all three sides. The top is faux-marble painted in shades of brown and tan (a later addition). And the body is primarily green. This early 19th century Italian raised chest will make a lovely and functional storage addition to a bedroom or powder room.Dimensions
