18th C. French Rococo Buffet à Deux-Corps
A French Rococo tall wooden display and storage cabinet from the 18th century. This antique oak wood cabinet from France features a nicely arched and molded center top pediment, is designed throughout in nice molding & raised panels, and presented on a flat base. This buffet à deux-corps (which is the name for a French buffet consisting of an upper and lower case, "deux" referencing the two parts) has a pair of arched doors fitted with wire fronts at top case. The doors open to reveal interior shelving for displaying goods, which has been lined throughout in a silk fabric. The lower cabinet houses a pair of arched panel doors, flanked with a petite pair of drawers at each top side. This piece breaks down into two pieces, allowing for easier transport and installation. The oak has a lighter finish, which is not original. This French period Rococo cabinet is quite versatile, offering great storage and display options, and would work well in just about any room of your home!
