18th C. English Hand-Carved Buffet Cabinet

An English carved and painted wood buffet from the 18th century. This antique cabinet from England has been beautifully hand-carved with scroll and foliate designs embellishing the raised panels found along the drawer and door fronts, as well as down each front side post. The case houses a pair of small drawers set over a pair of doors, flanked within nicely concaved and canted front side posts. The doors have carved column framed within the cabinet center, which has a slight projected giving a subtle break-front design. The skirt has a thickly molded trim and the piece is raised on bun feet. There is a custom pale blue wash, allowing much of the wood grain to show through, and various trim showing natural wood grain for accentuation. This 18th century English server console, with its attractively hand-carved details, will make an attractive and functional case piece for a dining room, living area, or entry hall.
