18th C. French Buffet w/Early Green Paint
A French painted wood two-door buffet cabinet from the 18th century. This antique cabinet from France has a rectangular-shaped top with rounded front corner edges, which rests above a case of fitted with a pair of decoratively-carved recessed-panel doors (fitted with beautiful iron hardware and hinges), and raised on petite cabriole legs. The skirt is scallop-carved about the front and sides. Curved side posts round out to the short ends of this cabinet which are adorn with arch-topped recessed panels. This piece has a painted finish, though not original, is quite early, in a soft seafoam green color. A cream color accentuates the top lip and various trimmings. This 18th century French buffet would be a wonderful storage and display piece, perfect for a foyer, office, kitchen, or dining room.
