Neoclassic French Commode, Bleached w/Grey
A French Neoclassic carved and painted wood commode from the 19th century. This antique chest from France features a rectangular-shaped top, which slightly overhangs the neoclassical style case that houses three recessed-panel drawers, flanked within flute carved front side posts, and presented upon four tapering squared legs with flute carvings about all sides. The dove-tailed and graduated drawers, are each fitted with a pair of Neoclassical wreathed ring-pulls that have flower head backplates and a bow-tie motif topping the oval-shaped escutcheon set at their centers. A new, custom gray wash accentuates the top and various trim; a beautiful contrast against the bleached wood. This 19th century French Neoclassical commode is a smaller-sized case piece of just over 3 feet in width, giving it endless possibilities and versatility for use throughout your home.
