19th C. Moorish Carved-Wood Box, Spain

A Spanish Moorish carved wood trunk from the 19th century. This antique wooden box from Spain has been artfully hand-carved in a Moorish star pattern which adorns its top and three sides. The top retains the original iron pin hinges along its backside and when opened, reveals open storage within with a small upper shelf along the top side. This piece is presented upon a pair of carved-wood rail style feet, which give it a lift off of the ground. The medium tone wood has a lovely patina from age and prior history of use. This 19th century Spanish trunk, with Moorish star design carvings, would be a great decorative storage piece, perfect for an office or study/den.
