An Exceptional 18th-19th C. Chest, Italy
This uniquely designed Italian chest of drawers, from the late 18th to early 19th century, is perhaps one of the most beautiful pieces of furniture to pass through our doors! This antique Italian walnut commode features an unusual triangulated bombé body, minimally adorn with straight molding and a gracefully swagged skirt along three sides. This chest has four drawers, each displaying their original round mount with bail pulls, with decorative escutcheons found at the center of the lower three. The piece is raised nicely upon four delicate cabriole legs. The rich walnut wood has a wonderful old patina, a proud display of it's history. This turn of the 18th to 19th century Italian commode with it's unusual straight-lined bombé body will make a stunningly handsome statement piece in any room, perhaps within an entry foyer or living area.Dimensions
